I have yet to come across a real leader who is not a good communicator. Only a few of them stood out as the best leaders — and every one of them took extra efforts on their communication skills.
We come across many leaders because they have a title that makes them leaders, but are not leaders in the real sense. They lack communication skills.
At the same time, it is true that those without any title, who took initiative in improving their communication skills, got “lucky” to get the titles later in their careers. Whenever someone takes extra effort and becomes successful, people start thinking about how lucky they were to get the right opportunities.
