Hello friends, welcome to this series of videos for the Explanation in the English language, of the holy and inspiring Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, for the Chapter 15 — Purushottama Yoga, one shloka at a time. This explanation is based on Dnyaneshwari which was written by Sant Dnyaneshwara more than 725 years ago.

In the fifteenth chapter of the holy Bhagavad Gita, Bhagavān Śri Kriśna uses the metaphor of an inverted Ashwattha tree for describing the universe. He also explains the two types of beings — perishable ones and the liberated ones — and then explains the Supreme divine personality, in order to then achieve the liberation.

In the fifth shloka of the fifteenth chapter, Bhagavan Shri Krishna says:

निर्मानमोहा जितसङ्गदोषा अध्यात्मनित्या विनिवृत्तकामा: |
द्वन्द्वैर्विमुक्ता: सुखदु:खसंज्ञैर्गच्छन्त्यमूढा: पदमव्ययं तत् ||५||

nirmāna-mohā jita-saṅga-doṣhā adhyātma-nityā vinivṛitta-kāmāḥ
dvandvairvimuktāḥ sukha-duḥkha-sanjñairgachchhantyamūḍhāḥ padamavyayaṁ tat ||5||
